Hope in Action: NECHAMA’s Impact

By Steve Lear

Highlighting organizations that are actively working for good in the world helps restore our perspective in these often chaotic and uncertain times. In that spirit, we’re once again featuring the work of NECHAMA, whose mission of Tikkun Olam— repairing the world—aligns with our own.

I encourage you to:

  • Read Nechama’s 2025 Annual Report for the latest updates on their work to:
    • Provide disaster relief efforts to Hurricane Helene victims in Western North Carolina
    • Establish Jewish education and engagement programs
    • Combat Antisemitism
    • Launch fundraising efforts
    • Deepen partnerships across the U.S.
  • Become a Contributor to this organization that works tirelessly to bring hope and healing to disaster victims nationwide.

NECHAMA CEO Stephan Kline explained what’s ahead for the organization’s next chapter: “Our plans focus on expanding deployments, Jewish engagement, volunteerism, communications, and operations. If fully funded, these priorities will significantly increase our impact and grow our budget to an estimated $4.0 million…Additional support will be essential to realize this vision.

A special thank you to NECHAMA’S leadership for the mention in your annual report – I’m grateful to be part of your journey. It’s hard to believe that what started with a small group of friends and neighbors 33 years ago has grown into a national organization with an entire network of staff and volunteers.

I continue to be inspired by your compassion and your commitment to help rebuild lives and communities, and I’m honored to support your work.
