DESCRIPTION:Please join us for Financial Capability Month (April) by attending MCEE’s free virtual Speaker Series event\, “Bringing Economics to Life! — A Series of Conversations Aimed at Using Economics to Better Understand Our World and Address Its Challenges”. \nThis free event will be held virtually Wednesday\, April 9\, 4:00-5:00 pm ct with featured guest\, John Spooner Professor of Finance at the Carlson School of Management\, University of Minnesota\, Tracy Wang. \nUnderstanding Finance from a Behavioral Lens \nWhat comes to mind when we think about Finance? Many people see numbers: the flashing prices on ticker boards\, numbers in financial statements\, dollars exchanging hands. Professor Tracy Wang sees people. Traders in stock exchanges are people\, investors are people\, bankers are people\, and corporate financial managers are people. All the financial numbers that we see are driven by people’s behaviors and decisions. People’s fear of risk and yearning for return build the behavioral lens for us to understand all the core concepts in finance.
